Did you read about that post on Facebook today?

What about that funny meme on Instagram?

Or that viral tweet that everyone is talking about?

The content that we absorb everyday is overwhelming.

Be it on any social media platform like LinkedIn, Instagram or even Netflix, the news that we see, the articles that we read, all of it is designed to be compelling and to attract the user's attention. But it is also the thing which builds up our daily thoughts and actions. That is why it is very important to filter out and analyze whatever media we see through our thought process before blindly believing in it. In such situations, we ought to ask ourselves, do we consume the content or does the content consume us?

Let me ask you a question. You must have an app which you use regularly. Which one is it? Can you name 3 things that you like or dislike about that app?

For me, it is linkedin. It has its good features and the bad too. What would an ideal LinkedIn be like for you?

People often complain about LinkedIn turning into Facebook indicating that it is degrading in the content quality and not being professional. I'll confess, sometimes the overflow of information about everything and anything gets to me too. But, then I realized something. Do we all not have the same opportunity to follow the type of content creators we want? Be it any media, we have the choice to control the type of content we see on our screen. The Internet is a vast vault of information and we have to choose what we want from it.

Think of it like this,

A library has all kinds of books, from war accounts, paranormal stuff, tech insights to fantasy fictions. We don't read about everything, do we? It's about our current interest and the need to know about a particular subject that helps us make the choice and pick the right book. So, can we not pick the right people that we need who create the content we want?

Something to think about.

P.S. You may find this interesting to look at.
